hola, it’s me, greta. :) last month, i was contacted by a guy i went to high school with, who just happens to be one mr. j.p. corr iii, fine art and portrait photographer. he was looking for a studio space to borrow while he was home (here) for the holidays to add some work to a series he’s been working on for some time. next thing i know, we’re pals, and he and his fiance are on the books for a smitten engagement session!! yikes! i was really really nervous. it’s super intimidating to shoot another photographer. but wow, we had a great time, and these are two of the sweetest people i’ve ever had the chance to know. i also assisted j.p. on one of HIS shoots, and that was awesome! amber and i really enjoyed working with you, j.p. and kacie!
about the pics… we had a spot all picked out to meet up at 9am the day of the shoot… outdoors… amber and i arrived at said spot about 15 minutes early to scope it out and omiGAH, it was FREEZING. literally. within 2 mintues my hands were numb. and amber, well… clearly it was not gonna work. so we decided a little change of venue was in everyone’s best interest. we went to a local coffee shop to thaw out, and then we moved things on to the flint riverquarium. here is your sneak peek guys!

faced with the decision between TWO knights in shining armor… kacie went with the tall one.

i love how kacie’s blue dress pops with the orange-y wall!

i won’t disclose the conversation that put this intense look on j.p.’s face. but suffice it to say, i’m a genius. who apparently can’t spell genius, cause i thought there was an “o” in there. thanks spell check!

j.p. was kind enough to bring along an alien bee for me to use. i haven’t worked with anything more powerful than my 580ex since the onelight workshop in april, so that was a lot of fun. we set the light up here to properly expose j.p. and casie, but also capture that awesome green/blue/fishy background. and we used my 60″ shoot thru umbrella. luckily no kids were barreling through at the time! j.p. was also kind enough to help me set it all up too.

j.p. might have brought the light, but guess who brought the FIERCE!! love this one kace!!

to commemorate the cold… amber had this awesome idea. making it a reality was quite humorous and fun!

i LOVE how she’s looking at him so adoringly! awwwwwwww!!!

smoochy-smooch

Oh but see, I <3 the one where they are just snuggling and her hand is on his face. Such a tender moment. Looks like y’all had fun!
Love the ones with the old buildings and the old fences. I *heart* rustic backgrounds.
